TECHNOLOGY

ALFA ROMEO has a long history of engineering vehicles incorporating some of the same innovative materials and technology found in Formula One cars and supercars. The 4C is no exception. With a monocoque chassis of hand-laid carbon fiber—seven times lighter and three times stronger than steel—and an outer body of Sheet Molded Compound (SMC)—20% lighter than steel, the end result is a remarkable strength to weight efficiency and an overall curb weight of just under 2465 pounds. Combined with aluminum subframes, a mid-engined configuration, rear-wheel drive and optimized weight distribution, makes for a performance story no other supercar can tell.

PERFORMANCE

IF THERE'S ONE THING Alfa Romeo knows, it's that lightness means nothing without power. At the heart of a 4C is a 237 HP, 258 lb-ft torque turbocharged inline 4, with a top speed of 160 mph and a weight-to-power ratio of 10.4 lbs/hp. A figure that not only promises genuine supercar agility and performance—it delivers. In fact, the all-aluminum, mid-mounted engine rockets the 4C from 0 to 60 in a head-snapping 4.1seconds.* This breakthrough power plant, married to a car with a curb weight of a mere 2,465 pounds, creates a car capable of accelerating considerably faster than cars boasting higher horsepower.

STYLE

FROM THE SWEEPING LINES of each breathtaking model to the smallest distinguishing features, every Alfa Romeo conveys pure automotive passion. The 4C is no exception. Handcrafted in Modena, Italy, every aspect of the 4C's shapely body performs in the most aerodynamically efficient manner. The 4C's interior is a study in sumptuous materials and driver-centric ergonomics-reinforced composite bucket seats, angled-toward-the-driver gauges and race-inspired controls. In short, everything about the 4C hints at a driving experience unmatched by any car—the mark of a true Alfa Romeo.
